Glasgow’s regional colleges (City of Glasgow, Glasgow Clyde and Glasgow Kelvin) have been awarded funding to deliver a Foundation Apprenticeship programme that will cover Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire. Launched in 2016, this work based learning programme is aimed at pupils starting S5 across Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire. If you are an existing employee of Glasgow Kelvin, Glasgow Clyde or City of Glasgow College this may be considered as a secondment opportunity.
Foundation Apprenticeship – Employer Engagement Lead
Grade 5, Fixed Scale Point 14 - £29,698
Fixed Term until September 2021
Location Glasgow (G34 9HZ)
Reporting to the Foundation Apprenticeship Project Manager, you will be responsible for the identification and engagement of employers that will provide placements for young people participating in the programme. You will manage and develop long term relationships with these employers to ensure an ongoing commitment to the programme and a commitment to providing placements on an annual basis. Although employers will be your main focus, you will also liaise with young people, their parents and schools in this new work based learning programme aimed at pupils in S5.
You will be educated to HND level or equivalent, or possess relevant experience, and will have experience of business relationship management. You will have a sound understanding of business development and of the key policy initiatives relating to Scotland’s young workforce development.
